I want to have my wedding in Monterey Bay, CA. What are some scenic places there that would be good?

I want to get married in Monterey Bay, CA. I know I want it to be over a hill looking at the ocean, or on a beach, or in a vineyard. I would prefer that it is somewhere the reception can be held as well. I live in LA and going to grad school, so it is kinda hard to go and explore the town up there, although I do plan on doing that during break this summer with my to be.

My daughter was married in Monterey 2 years ago and we explored every posibility for a ceremony by the beach. There really are no private places for a ceremony, although Lovers Point is very popular — it’s still in the open where strangers can see you. If you’re OK with that, then it’s probably fine.

The Beach Resort is right on the ocean and can handle both the ceremony on the beach and the reception. It’s the only hotel in Monterey on the beach. I thought the location was lovely; the hotel itself is homey.

La Mirada, part of the Monterey Art Museum, is just gorgeous. The ceremony can be held indoors or out.
